April 2026: Easter Celebrations & A Special Visit from the Easter Bunny
Our residents enjoyed a joyful Easter celebration filled with smiles, seasonal treats, and plenty of festive fun. February 2026: Chinese New Year Celebration
Residents enjoyed a wonderful celebration to mark Chinese New Year, embracing the traditions, colours, and culture of this special occasion. The home was filled with a festive atmosphere as residents came together to learn about the significance of the Lunar New Year and share in the celebrations. January 2026: Holocaust Memorial Day
Residents and staff came together to mark Holocaust Memorial Day with a meaningful time of reflection and remembrance. As part of the commemoration, residents created beautiful white roses, symbolising peace, hope, and remembrance for those who suffered during the Holocaust and subsequent genocides. December 2025: Christmas Celebrations
Residents embraced the festivities and fostered a sense of belonging throughout the month. Our home was decorated beautifully with the help of our residents for all to enjoy, and Christmas crafts and activities brought smiles and sparked joy. In preparation for Remembrance Sunday, residents came together to create beautiful poppy wreaths and decorations. October 2025: Spooky Fruity Treats for Halloween!
Residents helped to make some delicious spooky fruity Halloween treats for all to enjoy. For many of our residents, marking Halloween is a treasured link to their family’s Halloween traditions. Taking part in such activities transports them back to the warmth of family gatherings, bringing comfort and joy.


October 2025: Celebrating “Apple Day” with a Sip and Paint session
The humble apple was the centre of our celebrations at The Old Vicarage as we marked the fruit’s national day. Residents tasted lots of different varieties of apples and enjoyed fresh apple juice whilst painting.


September 2025: International Day of Charity – a visit to our local Cancer Research shop
Residents celebrated International Day of Charity with a visit to The Cancer Research Shop in St Neots Town Centre with a donation of jigsaws, vases, board games and clothes before heading off to the Market Square to enjoy an ice cream together in the sunshine. The day is a global reminder of how every act of giving, no matter how big or small, has the potential to change lives, uplift communities, and create a ripple effect of hope.


August 2025: Summer Garden Party
Our garden was bursting with summer spirit as residents, relatives, friends and staff came together to enjoy a spectacular Summer Garden Party. The day was filled with sunshine, laughter and cherished memories. Everyone was treated to a sizzling BBQ, music from our entertainer Mike, an exciting raffle and a children's games corner for our younger visitors! The event was a reflection of the community spirit that The Old Vicarage is proud to nurture.


July 2025
Residents enjoyed a lovely sketching session in our lovely garden at Arts Club this afternoon. Drawing is beneficial for older adults as it offers a range of cognitive, physical, and emotional advantages. It stimulates the brain, enhancing memory, focus, and problem-solving skills, while also improving fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Furthermore, drawing can reduce stress and anxiety, boost self-esteem, and provide a creative outlet for emotional expression.


June 2025
We enjoyed a wonderful tea party in the garden, celebrating the day we harvested our organic potatoes that we have lovingly grown in our vegetable garden. The carrots were not quite ready yet but the strawberries were lovely and sweet!


May 2025
We had a spectacular VE Day Party! We danced for over an hour, had a sparkly wine to celebrate and we played games in the garden. We also had a buffet , fresh hot popcorn and warm candy floss. Wonderful celebrations had by all!


April 2025
We had an amazing afternoon when the Easter Bunny visited! Lots of chocolate was enjoyed by all, and residents helped to make Easter cards and decorations for our home. The sun was shining and everybody was smiling! Happy Easter Everyone!


Celebrating Women March 2025
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global holiday to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. It is also a focal point in the women’s rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. Love through the ages ...Valentine's memories February 2025
Valentine’s Day was filled with cherished memories and heartwarming stories. Our residents gathered to create handmade Valentine’s Day cards and we took the opportunity to reminisce about the love stories, traditions, special moments that have shaped their lives as well as their fondest Valentine's memories.


National Chopsticks Day February 2025
We had a fantastic time celebrating National Chopstick Day. Residents put their hand-eye coordination to the test as they tried to master the art of using chopsticks. It was amazing to see everyone's focus and determination and of course plenty of laughter along the way!


Falconry Visit December 2024
Our residents were treated to some special and unexpected visitors when a number of owls paid them a visit! Many residents embraced the opportunity to have a feathered friend perch on their arm! The residents were captivated with all the facts and for many it was the first time being up close to a bird. Having the chance to actually hold one was simply spectacular!


Coffee morning to raise funds for Dementia UK
We hosted a wonderful community coffee morning to raise funds for Dementia UK. Our residents loved helping to prepare for the morning by decorating the garden and lounge. It was a really fun morning and everyone was keen to support such a worthwhile cause and raise awareness. It was a wonderful way to involve our local community too.
